How it works

Four steps, every side covered.

Whether you're selling, buying or renting, ClearLot runs the same neutral process at every lot in Columbia, Aiken and Augusta — with the paperwork built in, not left to a handshake.

  1. 01

    List online in minutes

Add your car's details, photos and known issues, pick the lot it will sit on, then sign the consignment agreement right in your dashboard.

  2. 02

    Drop it at the lot

We complete the intake and condition report with you, verify the listing and assign your car a stall.

  3. 03

    Buyers come to you

Your car is visible on the lot and online. Buyers message through ClearLot and book test drives under a signed waiver.

  4. 04

    Close the sale cleanly

You and the buyer agree on price. We handle the paperwork and payment goes through a third-party processor.

Why ClearLot

A private car deal shouldn't feel risky.

Trade-ins leave money behind

Dealers buy low to sell high. A private sale usually gets you more, but most people trade in to avoid the hassle.

Meeting strangers is a gamble

Parking lots, driveways, cash in envelopes. Sellers, buyers and renters all deserve a safer place to meet.

It eats your week

Answering messages, no-shows, pressure to haggle. ClearLot puts the car on display and handles the busywork.

The ClearLot difference

We host the deal. We don't take sides.

Our revenue comes from hosting, processing and verification, never from the price of your car. That keeps us honest with sellers, buyers and renters alike.

What we do

  • Provide secured display lots
  • Verify listings and record condition
  • Promote cars online and on site
  • Run test drives under a waiver
  • Check renters and hand over keys at the lot
  • Prepare contracts and processing

What we never do

  • Negotiate for either party
  • Set or pressure the price
  • Warranty or guarantee a vehicle
  • Hold sale funds for either side
  • Take a dealer markup

Paperwork, handled

Every sale and rental runs on real contracts.

The documents that protect both sides are built into the process, not left to a handshake.

Consignment agreement

Sets the listing terms between you and ClearLot. Signed online before your car goes live.

Intake & condition report

VIN, mileage, exterior and interior condition — recorded with you at drop-off.

Disclosure of known issues

The seller certifies known mechanical and cosmetic issues. Buyers see it on the listing.

Test drive waiver

Valid license and proof of insurance required. Signed before anyone gets behind the wheel.

Payment facilitation

Sale funds move through a third-party processor. ClearLot never holds buyer or seller money on a sale.

Rental agreement

Signed online with every rental request. Covers pickup and return, the $250 refundable deposit, cancellation and who may drive.

Rent-to-own contract

Apply online, then sign the written contract at the lot. The down payment, weekly payments and total cost are set out before you sign.

Owner rental addendum

Adds renting or rent-to-own to a consignment agreement. Owners set the rates; ClearLot keeps 15% of each rental charge.

Clear website terms

Plain rules for listings and conduct, so everyone knows where they stand.

Put your car where buyers and renters can see it.

Three lots: Columbia, Aiken and Augusta. Start your listing online in a few minutes, to sell, to rent out, or both. We'll review it and book your drop-off.
